Old Goucher

Baltimore, Maryland

Old Goucher, the central Baltimore neighborhood where the ARQ Baltimore office is located, is a diverse and dynamic community of small businesses, residences and local institutions.  Originally home to Goucher College (formerly the Womens College of Baltimore) until the campus was relocated to Towson in the 1950s, the Old Goucher neighborhood retains many of the original late 19th and early 20th century buildings that gave it its unique urban character and earned a National Register Historic District designation.  The ARQ Baltimore office participates actively in both the Old Gocuher Community Association (OGCA) and Old Goucher Business Association (OGBA).  Our office has also taken a leadership role, in collaboration with other neighborhood groups and Baltimore's Neighborhood Design Center (NDC), in the development of the Old Goucher Vision Plan, the first comprehensive planning document dealing with this unique part of the city.
