Studio Verte

The "Studio Verte" project involved rehabilitating a 1950s era Post Office building on the main street in the Kittery Foreside neighborhood and converting it into a restaurant and gallery space to help support the nascent local food and art culture developing in the area.  In addition to providing space for local food and art businesses, the renovation included the addition of solar thermal panels to provide space heating (through radiant flooring) and domestic hot water for the tenants and improvements to the building envelope to make the property more energy efficient.  The Post Office, that had been seen as an eyesore and detractor from the neighborhood, has now been re-purposed and continues to contribute to the energy and growth of the community.
